Abstract
Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to analyze narrative elements based on the conceptual model of narrative from the Quranic story of creation and to investigate the role of Iblis in it.
Methodology: This research uses narrative analysis method and according to the conceptual model of narrative, analyzes the narrative elements in the story of creation in the Qur'an, looking at the role of Iblis character as an anti-hero.
Findings: This article analyzes the story of creation in the Qur'an and matches it with the elements of narrative. The main focus of this article is on Iblis among the various characters of the story of creation, such as God, Adam and his wife, and angels, and this story has been studied according to how Iblis plays. Also, the Qur'anic expression of the personality-narrative characteristics of Iblis has also been discussed.
Conclusion: Iblis plays the role of the anti-hero in the Quranic story of creation, and the elements of the narrative, including plot, conflict, character and speech, along with their subcategories, are well seen in this story. The only sub-category whose absence is felt in this narrative is monologue. Also, in a more comprehensive view, the whole story of creation can be considered as the beginning of the comprehensive depiction of Iblis in the Quran, parts of which can be seen in other Quranic stories and the confrontation of the prophets with him.
