Abstract
Aim: The present paper seeks to identify the factors of national unity and integrity in the platform of social networks at the time of Commander Suleimani's Martyrdom.
Method: Using existing theories on national unity and integrity and extracted components from posts and pages, the paper analyzes the pages of Instagram through qualitative coding. Accordingly, twenty nine posts from existing posts in Instagram social networks have been selected as sample based on theoretical sufficiency through targeted sampling, and have been analyzed and reviewed.
Findings: The findings show that following factors were identified as the factors of national unity and integrity in the platform of social networks: 1. National identity and values; 2. Moral values; 3. Popularity; 4. Enemy recognition. The concepts under the tittles 1 and 2 have had more influence than other titles on types of users and accordingly on national unity and integrity in the time span under study.
Conclusion: It can be said that these factors can be the policy of most authorities of Islamic Republic in order to use maximum public power and presence in critical times. Therefore, authorities should provide the ground for national unity and integrity in national and religious events and occasions through a careful and deliberate planning in all grounds and concentrating on extracted categories. They should also take social networks more seriously than before in this regard.
