Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is to elucidate the dramatic potential of selected narratives from Tazkirat al-Awliya for the purpose of writing animated screenplays. Accordingly, the research seeks to identify the inherent dramatic elements within this work and to propose practical ways to adapt them for animation.
Methodology: This research employs narrative analysis. Specifically, the accounts of "Ma'ruf Karkhi," "Hasan Basri," "Junayd Baghdadi," "Rabi'a," "Abu Sa'id Abu'l-Khayr," and "Malik Dinar" were purposefully selected as case studies. The dramatic elements present in each narrative were then examined and analyzed. Finally, for each account, an example or idea for visualization in the form of animation—aligned with the content of the narrative—was suggested for use in animated screenplay writing.
Findings:  Most dramatic elements—including beginning, middle, and end, conflict, turmoil, complexity, crisis, tension, and others—are potentially present in the selected narratives of Tazkirat al-Awliya. "Potentially" here means that the elements extracted from the original text of each narrative do not necessarily encompass all the theoretical features of dramatic elements. Certain elements, such as the separation of loved ones and the union of opposites, were not found in any of the narratives, while irony appeared in half of the narratives and was absent in the other half. Elements like harmony and monologue were also absent in two of the narratives.
Discussion and Conclusion:  Based on the dramatic elements identified in the selected narratives of Tazkirat al-Awliya, as well as the compatibility of their content with the characteristics of animation, these narratives possess the necessary potential to be adapted into dramatic works, particularly animated productions.
